Not a piano trio as it is written in the book! No, the Frank Dupree Trio is not standard, does not follow well-trodden paths and cannot be pigeonholed. Just exploring a single musical world? That's not enough for this trio when there are so many other sounding universes out there. For the three musicians, genre and thought boundaries are only there to be broken down anyway. It is of course no coincidence that they dedicate themselves primarily to their composing ancestors George Gershwin, Maurice Ravel and Nikolai Kapustin, whose music also oscillates between worlds. For the lunchtime concert followed by a snack, the Frank Dupree Trio prepares a lively jazz-classical session according to the motto: ‘It should always be spontaneous, always in the moment and always free.’
Concert duration: approx. 30 minutes
Followed by a snack in the Clara Schumann Foyer (level 2) and in the Hindemith Foyer (level 3) (included in the ticket price)
