In Paradisum - this is what Gabriel Fauré called the last movement of his Requiem, of which he said: ‘It is of a gentle character, like myself.’ The programme features the Figural Choir, Cäcilienchor, soprano Jana Baumeister and baritone Georg Nigl, who was named ‘Singer of the Year’ by the magazine ‘Opernwelt’ in 2015. Schubert's ‘Unfinished’ captivates with its charm of reduction: it was only 37 years after his death that this torso, hovering between abyss and waltzing bliss, was discovered as a kind of legacy of the composer.
