Performers
The close relationship between Michael Wollny and the Alte Oper has lasted for around a decade. This means that they share each other's ideas and concepts, projects are created and grow together. The jazz pianist, known for his audacious cross-connections, has already been involved in several Alte Oper festivals, and eight performances have taken him to the venue as a resident artist in the 2022/23 season. Michael Wollny's trio is also very well known in Frankfurt: the pianist last appeared at the Alte Oper in November 2022 with his fellow musicians Eric Schaefer (drums) and Tim Lefebvre (bass), and together they were celebrated for their excursion into the spheres of ghosts. The three now return to the podium of the Großer Saal with a new program.
