Come with us to the back! You are cordially invited to take a guided tour of the Alte Oper and learn about its architecture and history. Volunteer guides from the Friends of the Alte Oper will be happy to show you around the building and explain the complex processes involved in ensuring that everything runs smoothly when the stars of classical music and entertainment take to the stage. They will also give you a glimpse of the rooms that are otherwise closed to the public. What does a conductor focus on in the final minutes before a concert? What is a stage manager's workplace like? Where are the grand pianos kept?
Duration of the tour: approximately 90 to 120 minutes
- We regret that we are unable to offer a barrier-free tour due to the layout of the building.
- In the event that a planned tour cannot take place due to last-minute changes in the programme of the Alte Oper, the ticket price will be refunded.
- The tour is not recommended for children under the age of ten.
- Please arrive at the stage entrance of the Alte Oper (left side of the building) at least 15 minutes before the start of the tour. Guests arriving after the start of the tour will unfortunately be unable to take part and will not be entitled to a refund.
