Conclusion and discussion with the evening's performersAnastasia Kobekina is a sound researcher. She is only too happy to listen to the worlds of sound that open up beyond the modern playing and construction methods of her instrument, the cello. Anyone who attended one of her acclaimed concerts at the Fratopia Festival 2022, where she interpreted Bach's cello suites, among other works, was able to experience her appreciation of the baroque cello and the fragile sound of the gut strings. Even more unusual is the tone colour of the ‘bowed guitar’, known as the arpeggione, to which Franz Schubert dedicated one of his most famous sonatas. In the concert, both the highly romantic composition and its curious original instrument take centre stage. And contemplation means here: The work will be performed twice and in between will be scrutinised in a discussion between the director Markus Fein and the performers.
