Nach(t)konzert: In memoriam Wolfgang Rihm
Wolfgang Rihm Gejagte Form - für Orchester (2. Version) (1995/2002)Admission free, admission with ticket for the evening concert
A concert that invites the listener to gather their thoughts and sharpen their senses. Brad Lubman's sympathetically unagitated piece ‘... to quiet the mind ...’, Brad Lubman has succeeded in creating a wonderful listening retreat. Kaija Saariaho takes us on a colourful road trip through the light-flooded ether in ‘Lichtbogen’ for ensemble and electronics. In Brian Ferneyhough's ‘Chute d'Icare’, we can experience how structures suddenly form in a confusing complexity of sounds. The Würzburg composer Klaus Ospald is known for his suggestive sound and finely composed sound transformations. In his second chamber symphony, he combines them with the poetry of the Italian poet Giocomo Leopardi, thereby illuminating the texts from within, so to speak.
