Is there an ideal form of music-making? Kit Armstrong is certain: it is chamber music. ‘My ideal is the coming together of versatile soloists who know how to play their different, sometimes prominent, sometimes accompanying, supporting and always exciting roles,’ says the cosmopolitan. He describes himself as far more than just a pianist - he has far too many interests and outstanding talents for that: harpsichordist, organist, composer, conductor and scientist are also Armstrong's professions. Now he has launched a new artistic project: With a specially founded, exclusive and hand-picked ensemble of close artistic friends, he sets off on a journey into the sound cosmos of Mozart and the Bach family and also explores the idea of chamber music in their concertante works.
