Alexandra Dovgan unfortunately had to cancel her performance in the ‘Debut’ series of the Alte Oper Frankfurt on Sunday, 27 October 2024, at 3 pm in the Mozart Saal. We are grateful to the young pianist Lukas Sternath for standing in for her at short notice. He will play the above programme.

Lukas Sternath launched his international career two years ago with his success at the International ARD Music Competition: In addition to first prize, the pianist, who was born in Vienna in 2001, was awarded seven special prizes, including the audience prize and the prize for the best interpretation of the commissioned composition. Sternath, who toured internationally as a Viennese choirboy from an early age, has been invited as an ECHO Rising Star to recitals in Budapest, Cologne, Hamburg, Dortmund, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Luxembourg, Lisbon, Brussels, London, Vienna, Barcelona and Baden-Baden this season. He has already made his debut with solo recitals at the Musikverein Vienna, the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie, the Tonhalle Zurich and the Ruhr Piano Festival and has worked with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the SWR Symphony Orchestra and the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra, among others. He will make his debut at the Alte Oper Frankfurt next Sunday.
