Pat Metheny has twenty Grammys in twelve categories, fifty years on stage and countless projects together with the greats of the international jazz and pop world to his name. However, it is not only the performances with stars such as Herbie Hancock, David Bowie and Joni Mitchell that are associated with the US guitarist's career, but also his solo productions and tours. ‘Dream Box’ is the name of his latest solo effort, named after the file folder of the same name on his hard drive, where Metheny stores special ideas for motifs, melodies and sound combinations. The guitarist now opens this ‘dream box’ at the JAZZnight at the Alte Oper - and brings surprisingly lyrical sounds to light.
